About Trinity Lutheran Church

Freed by grace, we are called by faith into the active mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Being Lutheran

  • We are followers of Jesus Christ.
  • We are Trinitarian. We understand our faith through three expressions of God: Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
  • God’s love and grace is a free gift from God not earned through things we say or do.
  • We are forgiven and loved by God simply because God wants to.
  • We have two sacraments (holy practices): Baptism and Holy Communion.
  • Lutherans are named after Martin Luther (1483-1546) who tried to reform the Roman Catholic Church but instead accidentally birthed the Protestant Church.
  • The Bible is not a rule book, a science book, or a history book. It is a book of faith containing the many stories of how humans have tried to be in faithful relationship with God. Human understanding of God inspired them to write scripture.
